Winter wonderland
Thanks to the central location of Bad Ischl, you are spoiled for choice, even when it comes to winter sports! Whether ski touring, classic alpine, snowboarding, sledding or snowshoeing - you will find your favorite winter sport in the Salzkammergut.
On the local mountain Katrin, for example, you can go on wonderful ski tours or take the gondola to the summit to enjoy the fantastic view from there.

Sledding
The Trockentann toboggan run in Bad Goisern is recommended for sledding fans - after an approx. 40-minute ascent (and a short break in the hut) you can choose between toboggan run and forest road on the descent.

Winter fun at Postalm

The Postalm Winter Park, 20 km away, welcomes you with everything an athlete's heart desires! Skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, sledding, ... your whole family will find their favourite winter pastime at Austria's largest alpine pasture.

Gosau & Krippenstein
The Dachstein West ski region can be easily reached in 30 minutes by car via Gosau (there is also a free bus from Bad Ischl) and with 160 kilometers of slopes, it is an absolute highlight! Unique: the night of the balloons!
The Krippenstein ski region, which can be reached in just 30 minutes, is also enchanting - as a hotspot for the freerider scene and with the longest descent in Austria (11 km), an incomparable experience awaits you here! The free bus also enables a car-free journey.
